This sporty couple got a chance to paddle down wind from Armadale to Isle Ornsay, only switching into the stable double kayak for the choppiest section, and otherwise enjoying the surfing along the coast in lovely Northshore boats. Once the surfing did come at a cost, but it was well worth it for the speed and fun experienced seconds before the cold dip in the Sound of Sleat. This month's skills course was faced with some cha This month's skills course was faced with some challenging weather conditions, which turned our so-called post-beginners very quickly into advanced sea kayakers. On day one, they got a taste of wind and waves and learned the tactical skills to manage the conditions. Day 2 and 3 threw more wind and bigger waves at them, and they refined their techniques and quickly developed a passion for surfing. We always found calm bays for practising other skills in, and they left with new confidence and skill to go off on their own adventures.
