Paddle Skye

Paddle Skye, and join us for a Multi-Day Sea Kayak Adventure on the Isle of Skye.

Enjoy Sea Kayaking on the West Coast of Scotland and explore the Island over multiple days. We will explore different locations in the North of Skye as well as the South, discover sea caves, islands, tide races, wildlife and stunning scenery. While our Sea Kayak Expeditions include Camping, on this Tour, you get to stay in a cosy bed and dry your clothes every night. It also gives us flexibility and the best chance to choose the right location for the weather conditions on every day. Locations may include Loch Bracadale, Loch Scavaig and Loch Coruisk, Rubha Hunish and the North End, Raasay, Lochalsh and the Sound of Sleat, all of course, weather dependent. There are 2 level options, so nobody misses out on discovering Skye by Sea Kayak.

Explore the Isle of Skye and learn to sea kayak with 3 days of paddling in different locations around the island (no camping). On 3 seperate day trips we will visit as many different places as possible. These may include the Sound of Sleat, Loch Eishort, Loch Scavaig and Soay and Lochalsh. We will pick the best ones for the weather conditions on each day. While you are out our experienced coaches will help you develop your sea kayaking skills so that you can paddle efficiently and manoeuver your boat to make the most of the stunning locations.

Prerequisits: You have done a little sea kayaking or other kayaking, such as sit-on-top or calm water canoeing and are keen to learn more about sea kayaking. While you discover Skye and enjoy the scenery, we will help you develop the skills need to handle your kayak throughout the course. You will learn to paddle efficiently, so that you can keep going for 3 amazing days. You don't need to be an athlete to join, but you should be fairly active and used to being outdoors. Have a look at our fitness advice page if you are unsure.

Return to your accommodation each night, enjoy a pub meal or a home cooked one, and we will dry your kit for you, ready for the next day.

This course on the Isle of Skye is suitable for active travellers who love the outdoors and are generally fit and adventurous. You may be completely new to kayaking, have been paddling a few times or have kayaked lots before, you’ll find this trip equally rewarding. You will learn new skills as we explore and will leave being a more confident and more competent paddler, ready for your own adventures.

These courses generally use single kayaks, unless the weather dictates the use of doubles, which will be decided on the day.
